Kazdağı National Park is located on the shore of the beautiful Edremit gulf, one of the leading tourism regions of our country. It is 15 km from Edremit and 105 km from Balıkesir. 20.935 Ha. It has an area of 1000 meters in height. Rich Vegetation and Fauna provides opportunities for activities such as Biodiversity, Camping, Hiking, Photography.
Bird Paradise National Park is within the borders of Balkesir province. It gained this status in 1959. Since it is not in the forest regime, it was first included in the forest regime with the decision of the Council of Ministers, and then it was given the status of a national park. Its surface area is 17.058 hectares. Bird Paradise, located on the bird migration route passing from Anatolia to Europe, hosts large brood colonies where thousands of birds consisting of pelicans, heron, spoonbill, cormorant, wild goose, wild duck and passerine nest on trees and reeds.
Natural Parks; They are natural pieces with vegetation and wildlife features, suitable for recreation and entertainment of the public in the integrity of the landscape.
Ayvalık Islands Nature Park is 19,624 hectares. It gained this status on April 21, 1995. It offers an excellent environment with its geomorphology, landscape beauties and recreational opportunities. 19 of the 22 islands of Ayvalık are within this area.

In the center of Değirmenboğazı Nature Park, within the boundaries of Karesi District; It is on the 10th kilometer of the Balıkesir - Bursa highway. It gained this status on 11.07.2011. Its total area is 250 hectares. In the field; There are sales stands at the entrance, a country casino, cafeteria, buffet, children’s playgrounds, basketball court and parking lot. The picnic area includes 52 species of trees such as pine, cypress and willow.
The other 2 Nature Parks of Balıkesir are Sarımsaklı with 2 hectares in Edremit District and Darıdere with 10 hectares in the Center. In both Nature Parks, 11.07.2011 has been included in this scope.
Nature Protection Area
The Kazdağı Fir Nature Protection Area is within the borders of Edremit District, 124 km from Balıkesir and 35 km from Edremit. It has an area of 254 hectares and it was declared a protection area on 15.06.1988. It is a unique eco-system with endemic and endangered Fir species. Kazdağı Fir, Black Pine, Oriental Beech are the main tree species found in the field; Deer, roe deer, boar, bear, wolf and jackal are the main animal species living in the field.
